Super Dash » Devlog
This is the first update after Steam Next Fest.
I was able to gather a lot of feedback during the event and decided to contiune updating the demo while the full game is getting finished.
The new changes focus on making it easier to understand game mechanics that had no explanation in the previous versions:
- when a new wave events the player has not seen before are explained before they happen
- the initial tutorial is updated again, with a progression bar and better explanations
- the path chooser event now has an explicit harder path with more rewards
- there's a health restore event before every boss and sometimes in the middle of the run as well
- buying a new HP slot does not require a boss emblem anymore - so its easier to upgrade your ship if the first boss is hard to destroy
- the highscore death penalty is reduced from 50% to 25%
- there are more visual cues when the dash streak is increased, making it easier to know what is the current requirement of enemies to be destroyed
- waves are easier in the starting levels
There are a handful of things that will still be improved in the demo before the game is released.
The demo will always be available to play even with the full release so I want to have it in the best state possible.
